Not that long ago, most people took their first tentative climbing steps on real rock, but these days it’s much more likely to be on an indoor wall. If you’ve had enough of climbing on plastic holds and fancy moving outside the transition can seem a little daunting. At Keswick Mountain Adventures we’ve designed an outdoor climbing course specifically for the competent indoor climber looking to move outside.

We will introduce you to fantastic classic climbs on some of the Lake District’s most spectacular crags. With our low student : instructor ratio you’ll get the most out of an action packed day, climbing some wonderful single and multi pitch routes. You will also get your hands on a range of climbing hardware whilst following a climber who has led the routes on leader placed protection so you’ll know your rocks from your wallnuts, your cams from your hex’s. By the end of the day you will have a sound understanding of anchor selection and belay techniques and knowledge of what makes the outside world so different.

Keswick Mountain Adventures expert instructors will take the worry out of your transition to the outdoors and open up an endless horizon of great climbing opportunities for you to enjoy.
