A two day course based on the SPA syllabus. The course covers such skills as choice of venue, rope management, correct use of equipment, group management, emergency procedures, crag etiquette, access and conservation. Before attending the training course candidates must have registered with the appropriate administrative body, have at least 12 months experience of rock climbing, have led at least 15 routes on leader placed protection and be not less than 18 years of age.
